Work at B.C. mixed-use tower project suspended due to COVID-19 cases

WEST VANCOUVER, B.C. – A construction site in West Vancouver has been shutdown due to COVID-19 cases.

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) confirmed Wednesday that it ordered the closure of a Syncra Construction site at 752 Marine Dr. in West Vancouver on April 29 due to COVID-19 cases. Officials stated closures typically last 10 days or until a medical health officer deems it safe.

“VCH continues to support businesses in our region to ensure they can operate safely and that they comply with provincial COVID-19 guidelines,” said a spokesperson. “To reopen, businesses would have to update their COVID -19 safety plan to be current with the latest Provincial Health Officer order.”

According to Syncra’s website, the project is a mixed-use development that includes two concrete towers, 16 storeys and 19 storeys, on a three-level underground parkade. The project consists of residential units combined with a level of commercial retail space in each tower.
It is being built for Larco Investments Ltd. and was designed by DIALOG & DA Architects + Planners.
