WINNIPEG — CentrePort Canada Inc. has a new person at the helm.

Carly Edmundson has been announced as the new president and chief executive officer of the inland port corporation starting on May 29.

indu Edmundson背景交通strial and commercial real estate, investment attraction and strategic communications, the company writes in a news release. She was an employee of CentrePort from 2013 to 2019.

Before moving to her new role with CentrePort, Edmundson was senior VP at Cushman & Wakefield Stevenson and recently finished a term as chair of the board of directors for the Young Associates, part of the University of Manitoba Business School Foundation.

CentrePort is the largest trimodal inland port and foreign trading zone in North America. The port is currently gaining momentum with the recent awarding of $18 million from the Government of Canada with construction set to begin soon, according to the release.

CentrePort South in the City of Winnipeg has secured $60 million in funding from multiple levels of government to initiate the first phase of work on the lands.

“I’m thrilled to be joining CentrePort as it enters a new phase of growth. CentrePort continues to be a force for economic development and prosperity in Manitoba. It was an honour to have been part of seeing that vision become a reality and I am excited to be part of the next chapter,” said Edmundson in the release.
