ConstructConnect’s Project Stress Index is a new resource which tracks changes in the level of projects that are delayed, placed on hold, or abandoned based on weekly construction activity data.
Project stress levels for the 30-day period ending April 15, 2023, finished almost 3% above year-ago levels. Recent weekly results have illustrated a sharp slowing of delayed bid projects along with a growing level of projects placed on hold.
These results may suggest, but cannot prove, that a conversion is occurring in which delayed bid projects are being put on hold. Prior years have experienced a similar behavior between delayed bids and projects on hold during the second quarter.
